Thursday, September 13th - Meet the Teacher Night/HSA Meeting
6:00pm, School Gym - Join Us for Meet the Teacher Night and our 1st HSA Parent Meeting of the Year! All Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend.* We'll start with the HSA meeting in the Gym at 6:00 pm - when Parent Information will be outlined for all our events and procedures through the year. Our HSA President, Melissa Burger, will share important details on Events, Room Parents, Volunteer Needs and Policies for all families - and voting will be done.
If you are a parent at SJS, you are part of the HSA (HSA = Home School Association - where everyone at Home and School works together to support the school for the Students and Teachers!). We hold many fundraising events through the year, and much help is needed to make them a success - in large ways, but also in many small ways! Consider helping an event in a large way by chairing that event, or at many events in small ways - your time and talents are necessary and so very appreciated to make our events successful for the school. <3
Afterwards, Meet the Teacher Night will commence! Head up to your child's classroom for 2 repeated presentations, each on the half hour. Experience the environment your child will be learning in, what they will be learning this year, and how they will learn it! Policies and structure will be outlined in this quick presentation.
*Please note: Parents are asked to make arrangements for alternate child care your children while you are attending this evening, so that you can be fully present for all of the information discussed. Thank you for understanding!
Wenesday, September 26th - Parent Teacher Tea
Cafeteria, 2:15pm - This is a nice event for Parents and Teachers to sit down for a quiet moment and coordinate fun events for the year in which parents are asked to be involved in; Classroom Parties, Events, Room Parents, crafts, and specific endeavors in which each classroom helps the school (such as making baskets for The Theme Tray Raffle and St. Nick's Night).
Candy Bar Sale - Now Through October 19th
The candy bar sale is our biggest fundraiser of the year! We ask that each family sells at least one box per child enrolled in our school, but you can certainly sell as many as you'd like. Fun Fact: The HSA holds a contest for the most boxes sold! This year we are selling extremely delicious Gertrude Hawk candy bar variety packs! If you did not pick up your candy at the Welcome Back Picnic, or at the office in the last few weeks, your child will be sent home with a box on the first day of school. If you'd like more boxes, you can always visit the School Office and sign any number of boxes out there. In the coming weeks, the Co-Chairpersons of this sale, Tabatha Hartz and Amanda Zielinski will be sending out information on securing slots to sell at local banks and after masses at our church. This allows you to sell boxes SO very quickly with all of the traffic flow! Thank you for all of your effort on this supportive school endeavor... We appreciate you! Questions? Please call the office and if they can't answer, they can connect you with our Co-Chairs!
